Nearly 400 undergraduate and 180 graduate students from the School of Business joined more than 3,000 newly minted graduates at the University of Miami’s spring 2012 commencement exercises, May 9-10, at the BankUnited Center.

Al Checchi, who played a key role in the success of major corporations such as Marriott, Disney and Northwest Airlines, spoke to School of Business students and alumni about his experience in leadership roles as part of the School’s Cobb Leadership Lecture Series on Mar. 27.

New ventures including a boat shoe seller, a health care provider and a social entrepreneurship program built around a café have taken top honors in the University of Miami’s 2013 Business Plan Competition, which featured $30,000 in prizes.

While there will be "bumps in the road" as the Affordable Care Act is implemented, the U.S. health care system will remain largely intact, according to national policy experts at “The Business of Health Care Post-Election,” a February 1 conference hosted by the School.

The School of Business will bring together some of the nation’s leading health care policy and industry leaders for a conference focused on the impact that the election results will have on health care reform and what it will mean for business.
