Bob Diener, founder of Hotels.com and getaroom.com, spoke in the inaugural Fouad H. Scandar Memorial Speaker Series as part of the University’s Global Entrepreneurship Week activities.
Passion, persistence, and communication skills are the foundation for a successful career in real estate, according to two visionary leaders behind the revitalization of Miami's Wynwood neighborhood, speaking to students interested in real estate careers and alumni working in the industry during a panel session in November.
More than 50 School of Business alumni joined other business professionals, Dean Gene Anderson, and other School administrators for a special networking reception in Panama in April.
Nearly 200 School of Business alumni working in the real estate industry came together for an evening of networking in downtown Miami in November. The event was also an opportunity for current students in the School’s real estate programs to make contacts in their field of interest.
More than 140 mentors and students came together for an orientation in September to kick off the School’s 2013 Mentor Program. The program pairs South Florida business professionals with junior, senior, and graduate business students throughout the academic year.

Students across the University are invited to join the School as we showcase cultural cuisine, music and dance from Brazil and discuss what doing business in and with Brazil is like, including how it differs from doing business in the US.
