Business Plan Competition

The annual University of Miami Business Plan Competition, sponsored by the School of Business, encourages entrepreneurship among students throughout the University of Miami. This year’s competition has separate tracks for undergraduate and graduate students. Entrants submitted a concept paper and have been chosen as finalists. Final presentations will be delivered before the judges who will select the winners and award $40,000 in prize money. The presentation portion of the competition is open to the public.

Past winners have included two teams featured on ABC’s Shark Tank. 2007 runner up Rodolfo Saccoman (MBA ’07) presented a plan for MyTherapyJournal.com in September, 2009. Omar Soliman (BBA ’04) took a spin-off of his 2004 competition winner (College Hunks Hauling Junk) called College Foxes Hauling Boxes on Shark Tank.
