Florida's Women-Led Businesses 2011 Survey
The Johnson A. Edosomwan Leadership Institute at the University of Miami School of Business Administration and The Commonwealth Institute South Florida (TCI) partnered to survey women who lead businesses in Florida.
The emphasis of the study was on business challenges that women leaders are currently facing.
Surveys were completed by 150 women leaders who held the position of president, chief executive officer, chairwoman of the board, and/or primary owner of a for-profit or not-for-profit organization based in Florida.
The findings suggest that women leaders are very optimistic about the future and they are looking forward to the challenges facing them in the next year.
They are positioning their organizations for the long-term rather than exercising the survival based short-term thinking that we have observed in the last two years.
