Programs in Health Sector Management and Policy
Health Sector Management Education
For more than 30 years, the School has offered its highly regarded Executive MBA in Health Sector Management and Policy, a fast-track weekend MBA program for health care professionals. It is one of only fourteen MBA programs and one of two executive education programs in the country that are dually accredited in both business and health care.To help meet the needs of physicians, nurses and other medical professionals, the School has also developed an MD/MBA program, an undergraduate minor and the business component for a new Doctor in Nurse Practice Program at the UM School of Nursing and Health Studies.
Thought Leadership
The School is also a resource for thought leadership in the business of health care. Tied to this is the School’s Center for Health Sector Management and Policy, whose mission is to conduct publication quality research, act as a resource for technical assistance and consults on health care management practices, and provide interactive conferences and forums to educate industry professionals, policymakers, citizens, and the University community.
The center focuses on research projects, lectures and forums related to cost effectiveness, performance improvements, and the provision, management, and economics of health care in the United States and Latin America.
