September 3, 2009 – Dean Kahn in Puerto Rico to Lead School’s Launch of New EMBA Program
Dean Barbara Kahn joined University of Miami President Donna Shalala and prominent Puerto Rican business, government and education leaders for a reception in San Juan to celebrate the launch of the School’s Executive MBA program in Puerto Rico. The new off-site program begins in October, enabling professionals living and working in the region to earn the University of Miami MBA degree in Puerto Rico without interrupting their careers. The School’s faculty members will travel to Puerto Rico to teach the classes, which will take place on Saturdays over 23 months. Read More

May 11, 2009 – Study Conducted by Dean Kahn About the Impact of Drug Company Promotions on Medical Students Published in Archives of Internal Medicine, a JAMA/Archives Journal
The prestigious JAMA/Archives Jouranl published research by Dean Barbara Kahn which found that exposure to small promotional items from pharmaceutical companies to build awareness of a given product, such as clipboards and notepads, appears to influence medical students’ unconscious or implicit attitudes about those products. The event was held during “Women’s History Month,” which commemorates the accomplishments of women. February 26, 2009 - Panel Held in Conjunction with Release of Study on South Florida Multinationals Features Insight from Dean Kahn
Results of a new study that shows South Florida’s multinational firms oversee more than $221 billion in annual revenues were released at WorldCity’s fourth annual Who’s Here’s Celebration. Dean Kahn participated in a panel discussion, “Winning in Tough Market Conditions,” held in conjunction with the release of the report. January 15, 2009 - Dean Kahn Opens University’s Inaugural Global Business Forum; Hundreds Including Leading CEOs and Other Top Executives Turn Out
"When we started planning this event more than a year ago, we knew that the time was right for a Forum of this nature, addressing the power of the connected world. But today, in the wake of a historic world economic crisis, the timing is truly remarkable,” said Kahn in her opening remarks. Dean Barbara Kahn appeared in a live interview segment on to provide insight on political merchandising on Sky News.
