The administration and management of today's business and government organizations rely heavily upon information technology for the efficient achievement of their goals. The collection, storage, and retrieval of data by computers is involved in the wide range of business activities including daily operations, management decision making, and long-range planning. As the dependence on management on information technology grows, so does the need for information technology specialists.
The Computer Information Systems Undergraduate Major is designed to provide the student with the key information technology skills needed in today's business environment, plus a firm grounding in the major business areas in which these skills will be applied. Graduates of the program may qualify for entry level positions as programmers, systems analysts, consultants, user support analysts, or other information technology positions.
Degree programs include: a BBA in CIS and a minor in CIS.
