Marketing Scholars New York Trip

The 2016 Marketing Scholars on their New York trip

Every year since 2010, the Marketing Scholars program has offered a select group of marketing students an exciting opportunity to learn about their chosen field in one of the world’s most important marketing centers, New York City.

Each year, 12 - 14 Marketing Scholars are carefully chosen for this prestigious program from among dozens of applicants to spend three days learning firsthand how marketing is practiced in the real world. Students meet marketing executives, tour the companies’ sites and discuss their marketing strategies and initiatives.  In addition, students learn about summer internships and full-time employment opportunities at the companies’ locations in New York, the U.S. and around the world.

Along with the Bermont/Carlin Scholars, the Marketing Scholars also participate each year in the UBS Young Alumni Mentor event which gives these students the opportunity to network with School of Business alumni in the marketing and finance fields and discuss possible career paths.

Over the years, the Marketing Scholars have visited with such leading companies as Landor, Unilever, GfK, NBC/Universal, Citi, PepsiCo, H&M, Saatchi and Saatchi, Sirius/XMRadio, LinkedIn and many more in the fields of digital marketing, media, fashion, music and advertising. As a direct result of the trip, students have landed valuable summer internships and full-time employment at some of these companies.

In 2016, the Marketing Department received generous gifts from the Goldstein and Milo families to support the Marketing Scholars trip.
