The GBF brought together some of the most influential leaders in business and government, along with hundreds of professionals from across industries, for two days of forward thinking discussion on some of the following critical issues:

Western Hemisphere Opportunities and Challenges Conference
This one-day conference, sponsored by the University of Miami’s Center for Hemispheric Policy draws hundreds of academics, government officials, journalists and business executives to talk about the challenges and opportunities impacting the western hemispheric region. With the UM CIBER as a co-sponsor, faculty of the School of Business Administration and College of Arts and Sciences complement the political and economic discussion with dialogue on business competiveness.

Latin American Security Challenges Workshop
Sponsored by the UM CIBER, along with the University’s Center of Hemispheric Policy, Center for Latin America Studies, and Institute for Cuban and Cuban-American Studies, this workshop explores how current events impact individual and corporate security throughout the region. Academic and security experts from Latin America and the U.S. Southern Command present working papers and discuss issues with a primarily business audience.
The Center for Hemispheric Policy (CHP) and the UM CIBER presented "Security Challenges and Their Impact on Latin America's Business Environment" on April 12, 2011 at the Hyatt Regency, Coral Gables.
