International Business Research Grants
The UM CIBER provides annual research grants to selected faculty who submit competitive research proposals focusing on cross-cultural/international “frontiers.” The CIBER’s research committee prioritizes research areas, selects awardees, evaluates their performance, and adjusts the research scope and priorities annually. The 2010 – 2011 priorities include:- Frontiers in Global Strategy, Global Supply Chain Management, and Emerging Markets
- Frontiers in Global Leadership and Unionization
- Frontiers in Cross-Cultural and Global Communications
- Frontiers in Global Business Process Outsourcing and Knowledge Process Outsourcing
- Frontiers in Global Service Practice
Frontiers in International Business Research Seminar
This is an opportunity for faculty members and PhD students from universities throughout South Florida universities and guest scholars to present and discuss research projects.

Frontiers in International Business Working Paper Series
This Web-based series of international business papers, case studies, technical notes, other pedagogical materials, and presentations from academic meetings and professional development programs is distributed worldwide.

Frontiers in International Business Service Practice: The Global Business Dialogue
This is an electronic distribution service for international service modules and materials (i.e., conference and pedagogical cases) for use across the University of Miami and elsewhere.

Mercosur - May 12 - 22, 2012
The UM CIBER co-sponsors a two-week study trip for college faculty nationwide, organized by FIU's CIBER. Participants will visit Brazil, Argentina and Chile.

Middle East
The UM CIBER sponsors a two-week study trip for college faculty nationwide, placing emphasis on technological and service improvements for energy and water resources. Participants will visit Cyprus, Egypt, and Israel. Begins 2012.

IB Faculty-Student Mentorship
This cross-disciplinary program stimulates collaborative international business research between faculty and graduate students. Two awards are granted each year with priority placed on research projects that focus on international services and those that will also result in grant opportunities from major foundations and other external sources.

IB Summer Institute
One scholarship is provided annually to a faculty member of the Modern Languages and Literatures or International Studies department of the University of Miami College of Arts and Sciences. The funding supports his or her attendance at a CIBER-sponsored institute and aims to further develop the faculty members international business expertise.

Faculty Exchange/Guest Scholar Program
The UM CIBER hosts and sponsors visiting scholars from across the U.S. and internationally. Scholars present research finding and interact with University of Miami faculty members to facilitate team research, team teaching and future faculty exchanges.

CIBER Business Language Conference 2012
On March 21 - 23, 2012, the UNC Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER), together with a consortium of CIBERs nationwide, will host the annual Business Language Conference in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. The conference will challenge participating scholars and instructors (from universities, colleges, K-12, business and governmental organizations) to inspire new lines of research, rethink teaching techniques, and create links between language classrooms and real businesses. The conference is thus responding to the goal of the U.S. Department of Education's CIBER grant program to increase global capacity and, ultimately, U.S. businesses' global competitiveness.

Western Hemisphere Opportunities and Challenges Conference
This one-day conference, sponsored by the University of Miami’s Center for Hemispheric Policy draws hundreds of academics, government officials, journalists and business executives to talk about the challenges and opportunities impacting the western hemispheric region. With the UM CIBER as a co-sponsor, faculty of the School of Business Administration and College of Arts and Sciences complement the political and economic discussion with dialogue on business competiveness.
