Services to Faculty
The UM CIBER is committed to providing University of Miami faculty as well as faculty from leading universities worldwide with opportunities to expand their knowledge in the field of international business. The CIBER offers a variety of faculty development and outreach programs to support this effort.
A Leader in International Business Scholarship
The faculty programs offered by the UM CIBER are built on the strengths of its international business faculty, which is recognized worldwide. In 2010, the School of Business was ranked No. 20 in the world for international business research in a study published in the International Business Review. The same study ranked Yadong Luo, the School Emery Findley Distinguished Chair and professor of management, as the world’s foremost international business scholar.
We offer a range of programs for faculty from UM and other Universities. Email any questions you have to Niccole Pertierra Iglesias at Niglesias@bus.miami.edu.

Interdisciplinary Research Mini-Grants (Back to Top)
To strengthen IB research, UM CIBER’s Research Committee, comprised of top UM researchers, invite UM faculty to sub-mit interdisciplinary research projects (submitted jointly by faculty from at least two different Schools/Colleges within UM) for competitive review/ awards. The committee will prioritize re-search areas, evaluate submissions, choose awardees, evaluate performance, and adjust research scope/priorities every year.
Its initial priorities center on identifying best practices and develop-ing frameworks to improve transfer of expertise and resources from the US to emerging markets and vice-versa. In order to achieve the following goals, aligned with SBA’s strategic priorities and the job generation imperative for the US:
(1) expand access to healthcare and financial ser-vices in LA;
(2) infuse corporate and social entrepreneurship into wealth creation and social in-novation worldwide;
(3) improve supply chain and logistics management in emerging markets;
(4) strengthen personal, corporate, social, and cyber security in LA; and
(5) enhance global knowledge process outsourcing, Co-Opetition, and service practice worldwide.
