MBA Students Experience International Business & Culture in India, 04/01/2013

Miami Today – 3/14/2012 – An article about trends in business education included information about the School’s MBA programs and included quotes from Anuj Mehrotra, the vice dean for graduate business programs, who discussed growing demand for international, health sector, and entrepreneurship programs. Article

USA Today – 12/4/2011 – An article noted that alumnus Max Marty (MBA ’09) - the founder of a company that is planning to anchor a ship in international waters off California's shores in order to help foreigners come ashore to meet with tech companies and investors using easier-to-obtain tourist visas and short-term business visas – came up with the idea after seeing so many of his foreign classmates at the UM School of Business return home after graduation. Article

School Strengthens Ties with Hispanic Business Community as Part of Nation’s Largest Gathering of Hispanic Business Leaders, 9/28/2011
The School of Business was alongside some of the nation’s most prominent corporations, small businesses and other organizations during the 32nd Annual National Convention of the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) Sept. 18 – 21 in Miami Beach. The School, in partnership with the UM Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER), served as an academic sponsor for the convention, which brought together more than 5,000 people to South Florida -  the largest gathering of Hispanic business leaders in the U.S.

MBA Students Engage in International Consulting, 9/12/2011
MBA students gained firsthand consulting experience this summer through the University of Miami Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER), which is based at the School of Business. The four-credit Global Business Project offered MBAs and other graduate students at 14 CIBER member universities the opportunity to produce strategic advice for companies in markets critical to U.S. competitiveness, and to increase their foreign language competency. Teams met in Washington, D.C. in the spring and worked virtually for eight weeks before traveling to Japan, Thailand and Brazil to conduct research and prepare for their final presentations to clients.

Yadong Luo, Emery Findley Distinguished Chair and professor of management, is the world's foremost international business scholar according to a study just published in the International Business Review. The same study ranks the School of Business No. 20 in the world for international research, ahead of such elite institutions as Harvard University and the London Business School.
