Matthew J. Allen Vice President and COO The Related Group
Matthew J. Allen is executive vice president and chief operating officer of The Related Group. Allen, who joined the company in 1999, is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the company. In addition, he directly oversees the finance, human resources, marketing, legal, accounting and asset management divisions. Since 1999, he has been directly responsible for raising more than $10 billion in equity capital and debt. Prior to joining Related, Allen served as senior vice president of Atlantic Gulf Communities. Allen has more than 21 years of experience in real estate. He is a member of the Executive Committee and Board of Directors of The Beacon Council, Executive Council and the Board of Directors for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Miami. He completed his undergraduate studies at Barry University and received his master’s degree in Business Administration from Florida International University.

Charles C. Bohl Director of Masters in Real Estate Development and Urbanism School of Architecture, University of Miami
Dr. Charles Christopher Bohl is an expert on new town centers, main streets and transit villages and is the author of Place Making: Developing Town Centers, Main Streets and Urban Villages, a best-selling book published by the Urban Land Institute. Bohl is a research associate professor in the School of Architecture at the University of Miami, where he teaches the planning, design and development of livable communities and serves as director of the Knight Program in Community Building. He directs all aspects of the Community Building Program, which includes fellowships, community design workshops, study tours, courses, seminars and publications focusing on livable community planning and design. He has served on the Executive Committee for the Urban Land Institute’s SE Florida/Caribbean District since 2004. Bohl has led the development of educational programs in Real Estate Development and Urbanism at the University of Miami blending the fundamentals of real estate development with the principles and practice of livable community design. He lectures and consults widely on planning, urban design, development and place making in the U.S. and abroad. Bohl was awarded a PhD in City and Regional Planning from UNC Chapel Hill; a Masters degree in City and Regional Planning from the University at Albany (NY); and a Bachelors degree from New York University.

John C. Dellagloria General Counsel Community Development Agency, City of Palm Bay, Fla. John C. Dellagloria is a full-time lecturer in the Business Law Department, and has taught at the University since 1982. In addition to this position, Dellagloria is general counsel to the Community Redevelopment Agency of the City of Palm Bay, Florida, and counsel to the Swerdlow / Boca Development Group, and has been a practicing attorney in Florida since 1979. Dellagloria is listed in Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Law and Who’s Who in American Educators. Dellagloria is the lecturer recipient of the Business Law Department’s 2004 Excellence in Teaching Award.

Matthew S. Greer is chief executive officer of Carlisle Development Group. Founded in 1997, Carlisle Development Group is a fully integrated real estate company which has developed, leased and managed developments throughout Florida totaling more than 7,000 residential units and more than half a billion dollars in current development activities. The Carlisle Development Group is a well-known corporate leader in Florida, most recently receiving the Business of the Year award for Real Estate Services from South Florida CEO. As CEO, Greer is responsible for the company’s development strategy and for overall management of its Development, Management, and Construction operating units. Active in the community, Greer is a member of Young Presidents Organization, the United Way’s Young Leaders Group, the Greater Miami Jewish Federation, Our Kids, the Hold the Line campaign, and The Locust Projects. Andrea J. Heuson Professor of Finance School of Business, University of Miami
Dr. Andrea J. Heuson was born and raised in Miami, Florida. She attended Newcomb College and Tulane University in New Orleans before receiving a PhD in Finance, with concentrations in Financial Institutions and Real Estate, from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign, Ill.
Heuson has been on the Finance Faculty at the School of Business Administration at the University of Miami since 1982. She has published articles on mortgage finance and other fixed-income markets in numerous academic journals while teaching valuation, international finance and real estate finance in the undergraduate, graduate and executive level programs.

Manuel Lasaga President and Co-founder Strategic Information Analysis Inc.
Dr. Manuel Lasaga is president and co-founder of Strategic Information Analysis Inc., (StratInfo) an economics and finance consulting firm established in 1993 in Miami, Florida. He has more than 22 years’ experience as a business and financial economist and senior executive. Lasaga has nationally-recognized capability for independent analysis of the Florida, U.S., and Latin American economies in order to propose strategies to decision makers in international banks and multinational corporations. He has successfully completed new bank applications in the State of Florida. He is also called upon as an expert witness in litigation matters involving economic losses. Lasaga is a registered Investment Adviser in the State of Florida.
Lasaga holds a Master’s Degree and a PhD degree in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania. He has taught International Finance and Managerial Economics and Microeconomics at the University of Miami for the past fourteen years. He taught International Trade and Money and Banking at Florida International University for five years before coming to UM.

Julian H. Perez Senior Program Manager and Urban Planner
Julian H. Perez is a senior program manager and urban planning professional with more than 20 years of experience in managing and conducting projects relating to growth management, program management planning, land development, water and wastewater management, solid and hazardous waste, aviation planning, and environmental studies and programs.
Perez has served in the following: American Planning Association; Project Management Institute; Presidential Rank Awards Program Meritorious Review Board; Florida Communities Trust Governing Board; State of Florida Environmental Equity and Justice Commission; vice-chair of the Miami-Dade County Brownfield Task Force Oversight Committee, and chairperson of the Task Force’s Fiscal Incentives and Community Outreach Committee and Ad Hoc Legislative Committee.
In 1985 and 1983, Mr. Perez was awarded Master Degrees in Urban and Regional Planning and International Affairs/Economic Development from Florida State University. In 1980, Mr. Perez received two Bachelor of Science Degrees in Economics and Policy Science from Florida State University.

Rafael A. Sánchez President Ponce Circle Developers LLC
Rafael “Ralph” Sánchez is President of Ponce Circle Developers LLC (Old Spanish Village). Sánchez earned a college degree and began to dabble in real estate while spending time practicing his true passion and ultimate claim to fame, motor racing.
He launched the Miami Grand Prix in 1983. He also founded the American Racing Series, the Training Series for the Indy Cars.
At the same time, Mr. Sánchez was developing various real estate projects throughout Florida, Latin America and the Caribbean. In 1995, he completed the $100 million Homestead Motorsports Complex, the first permanent racing facility in South Florida.
Ralph Sánchez is now undertaking his largest project to date: the development of Old Spanish Village, in Coral Gables, Florida. Matthew D. Shore Director of Acquisitions DRA Advisors LLC
Matthew D. Shore is a director of acquisitions at DRA Advisors, a New York based real estate investment firm with more than $10 billion in assets under management. DRA specializes in the investment and management of real estate properties across the country through its series of commingled funds. DRA’s clients are public and private pension funds, university endowments, foundations, financial institutions and high-net-worth individuals. As director of acquisitions, Shore is responsible for the acquisition and strategic management of investments primarily located in the Southeastern United States. He joined DRA in 2002, and in 2006 he moved down to South Florida to open their regional office. In the past six years while at DRA, Shore has sourced and closed more than $2 billion in real estate transactions including the privatization of a publicly traded REIT. Prior to joining DRA Advisors, Shore worked at Wachovia Securities in its real estate mergers and acquisition division responsible for the valuation and analysis of publicly traded Real Estate Investment Trust. In 2000, he worked at First Union in its Private Equity Coverage Group. Shore is active in the community as a Real Estate Committee member for the Greater Miami Jewish Federation, Board member for the Miami Cornell Society, Volunteer for Hands On Miami and Young President member of the Mount Sinai Medical Center. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Cornell University.

Scott Sime Managing Director CB Richard Ellis
Scott Sime, as managing director of the CB Richard Ellis’ offices in Miami-Dade County, oversees 110 employees, including 70 seasoned brokers, who specialize in all areas of commercial real estate, valuation and appraisal, marketing and research professionals and administrative staff. In addition, he is responsible for day-to-day operations and ensuring a financially sound and growing business. In 2008, Sime was appointed to the Beacon Council’s Board of Directors and the Orange Bowl Committee. Being a lifelong resident of Miami, Sime is actively involved in the community; he takes pride in devoting time to philanthropy and the overall progress and development of Miami-Dade County. Sime has been a part of the University of Miami School of Business Mentor Program since 2004, with two current mentees. In 2005 he received the CB Richard Ellis President’s performance Award.
Sime was awarded a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Miami. He received a Bachelor of Arts from Duke University, where he was on a full athletic scholarship.

Richard Swerdlow CEO and Founder Condo.com
Richard Swerdlow, chief executive officer, founded Condo.com in 2006 and is responsible for the company's strategic direction, business development and operations. The site cost-effectively delivers exposure and leads to developers, brokers, financial institutions and others through the seamless distribution of its listings to a global network of websites.
Previously, Swerdlow founded Everything Wireless, the first consumer cataloger and Internet retailer to provide national distribution of wireless phones and accessories. The company grew to $100 million in revenues, with more than 750,000 active customers, and was sold to Federated Department Stores in 2000.
Swerdlow began his career practicing law in the Public Finance Department of Greenberg Traurig in Miami, where he helped structure bond financings for a variety of municipal clients as bond counsel and underwriter’s counsel. He is a member of the New York and Florida Bar Associations and a licensed real estate broker.

Clay F. Wilson Executive Vice President, Commercial Real Estate Bank United
Clay F. Wilson has been the executive vice president of commercial real estate for BankUnited since 2003. Prior to working with BankUnited, Wilson was the group senior vice president of commercial real estate for Barnett Bank, South Florida, and its successor by merger, NationsBank Inc.
