What services are provided at the Ziff Center?
The Ziff Center provides résumé critiquing, professional development workshops, company presentations and more. The Resource Room at the Ziff Center is equipped with computer terminals, the Wall Street Journal, Barron's and various other publications for job searching. In addition, through on-campus recruiting and résumé referral services, the Ziff Center provides interviewing opportunities for MBA students.
What is Ziff eCareer Center?
Our website is ziffecareercenter.com and is an extension of the Ziff Career Center. Students can register with the Center, sign up for company presentations and on-campus recruiting schedules, view special events, reveiw your referral history, access job listings on-line, and have an on-line resume accessible by employers. Our website is updated continually, and you will receive up-to-the-moment information when you log in.
How can I get help writing cover letters and thank-you letters?
You can schedule an appointment at the Ziff Center. Additionally the Writing Center is available for use. It is located at 5225 Ponce De Leon, near the Canterbury Pre-School. You do not need to make an appointment; simply go to the Writing Center. For more information call 305-284-2956.
I'm nervous about interviewing. What can I do?
The Ziff Center offers periodic workshops on interviewing. Visit our online resources on Ziff eCareer Center website or schedule a mock interview by calling 305-284-6905. When it comes to interviewing with a company, be sure you are prepared. Nothing builds confidence more than knowing the company.
I am interested in relocating outside of Florida. What resources are available at the Ziff Center?
We offer many resources to students looking to obtain employment outside of Florida. Be sure to note your geographic preferences in ziffecareercenter.com so that the Ziff Team can assist you.
I am interested in an internship. What do I need to do?
To be involved with the Ziff Center's internship program, you need to have your résumé approved and active on Ziff online. The Job Opportunity Searches page offers many resources, as well.
I am an international student with an F-1 Visa. Am I eligible for paid internships?
Yes, providing you have resided in the United States for nine consecutive months and receive credit for your internship through the Curricular Practical Training Program.
I am not having any success in my job search. What should I do?

Through extensive research we have identified sites, all of which are located on our website.
I will be graduating soon from the University of Miami. May I continue to use your services?
Yes. We will continue to assist you and refer your résumé to targeted companies until you have a job. You are still entitled to use our services after employment.
I've moved. What do I do?
It is critical that you update your address with both the Ziff Center and with the University of Miami Registrar's Office at 305-284-2294. To update your contact information with the Ziff Career Center website.
What should I do if I am not getting e-mail messages from the Ziff Center?
Check your ziffecareercenter.com profile data ensure you have properly listed your e-mail address. Once you have made the corrections, you must click on the "Save" button. If this does not fix the problem, make sure that you have turned off your spam blocker for the miami.edu domain.
Where can I go for personal counseling?
The Counseling Center offers vocational counseling and testing for students. The Counseling Center is open weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and is located at the Center for Student Services, 5600 Merrick Dr. Bldg. 21-R. For more information, call 305-284-5511.
