Application Information

Application Deadline: Applications are reviewed frequently for rolling admissions so there are no formal deadlines. However, we recommend that applications be submitted by March 15 for the fall semester and by May 1 for the spring.

Your application will be evaluated by the Admissions Committee upon receipt of all of the following required materials:

  • Completed application. Apply online, please click here.
  • GMAT Scores – 550 or greater is desirable. GMAT Code for University of Miami: 7NV-S1-96.
  • Required essays
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • Transcripts from previously attended schools of higher education.  * International Students see below.
  • Resume

* For international students:  Additional documentation is required to process the application.

  • Copy of passport
  • Copy and translation of diploma(s)
  • Official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended (undergraduate and graduate level work).  You must request the registrar of each institution to send official transcripts directly to the Graduate Business Admissions Office. 

Applicants from the following countries must send the official transcripts and diplomas as follow:

  • China: Official transcripts and diplomas (in English and Chinese) must be sent directly to the Graduate Business Admissions Office by China Academic Degrees and Graduate Education Development Center (CDGDC).

  • India: Applicant must send all individual mark-sheets indicating all subjects taken and marks obtained for all years of post-secondary study. Consolidated mark sheets will NOT be accepted:

    • All mark sheets must be issued by the university responsible for conducting the examinations and sent directly to your Graduate Program by the university.


    • Photocopies of original mark sheets and diplomas/degrees must be attested by the Controller of Examinations or Registrar’s Office of the university responsible for conducting the examinations.  If the institution you attended (e.g. Indian Institute of Technology) can only provide a transcript, you must request the registrar to send the official transcripts directly to Graduate Business Admissions Office.

  • IELTS or TOEFL scores are required. The code for the University of Miami is 5815.
    • IELTS score: minimum of 6.5, 7.0 or greater preferred 
    • TOEFL scores:
      • Paper test: 600 or more
      • Computerized test: 240 or greater
      • Internet-based test: 94 or greater 

Registration for Classes: Registration for Master of Accounting (MAcc) classes normally opens in March for the fall semester and November for the spring semester. For up-to-date information, refer to the current Academic Calendar. The Director of the MAcc program, Michael Werner, handles all advising for Master of Accounting students.  New students should contact Michael Werner at maccmst@bus.miami.edu once their admission is completed in order to plan a program of study.

Program Duration: The MAcc program is 30 credit hours, which can be completed in two semesters of full-time study.
