Forbes Ranks University of Miami MBA Program Among Nation’s Best

Coral Gables, Fla. – Aug. 6, 2009 –
The full-time MBA program at the University of Miami School of Business Administration is ranked the nation’s No. 43 MBA program in Forbes magazine’s biennial ranking of business schools, due on newsstands Aug. 7. The Forbes survey ranks MBA programs based on return on investment--meaning compensation five years after graduation minus tuition and the forgone salary during school.

“This latest ranking shows that the UM School of Business not only provides a first-rate MBA education, but also great value for the money when compared with the hundreds of other MBA programs across the US,” said Barbara Kahn, dean of the University of Miami School of Business Administration. “It further illustrates the momentum we are experiencing as we work to solidify our place among the very best business schools.”

The School’s full-time MBA program is a two-year program that attracts students from around the world. Nearly one third of the class entering in fall 2009 will be international with students representing at least 18 countries.

“The accolades the UM MBA continues to receive reflect the constant innovations we bring to the program, which range from an evolving curriculum to enhanced career services and new global learning opportunities,” said Anuj Mehrotra, vice dean for graduate business programs at the School of Business Administration. “In just the last year, we have increased the program credit hours, added more elective classes, developed an optional real estate concentration, and enhanced the core curriculum with new classes in critical thinking and in career development.”

The School’s other MBA programs include an MBA for Working Professionals program and several Executive MBA programs, one of which is taught in Spanish. The Executive MBA program is currently ranked the No. 1 Executive MBA program in Florida and the No. 33 program in all of the Americas by the influential Financial Times.
