Management Professor Offers Expertise to Department of Homeland Security
Haresh Gurnani, Leslie O. Barnes Scholar and professor of management, served on the U.S. Department of Homeland (DHS) Security’s Science and Technology Critical Infrastructure Resilience Center of Excellence review panel December 9 – 12, 2014 in Arlington, Virginia. Gurnani’s role included offering his management expertise in reviewing Lead Institution applications for the DHS Centers of Excellence program.
DHS Centers of Excellence (COEs) are university consortia that work closely with DHS to conduct research, develop and transition mission-relevant science and technology, and educate the next generation of homeland security technical experts. Each COE is led by a U.S. college or university and has multiple partners.
The mission of the DHS Science & Technology Directorate is to strengthen America’s security and resiliency by providing knowledge products and innovative technology solutions for the Homeland Security Enterprise (HSE) to develop a technically savvy future workforce for the HSE.
