Management Professor Receives Best Paper Award from Leading Management Organization
A research paper co-authored by Gergana Todorova, assistant professor of management, received the “Best Paper Award” in the Conflict Management division at the 74th Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management, held in August.
The article, titled “The Directness and Oppositional Intensity of Conflict Expression,” offers a conceptual framework for workplace conflict expression and the influence of expression on how people experience and react to conflict. Todorova co-authored the article with Laurie R. Weingart of Carnegie Mellon University; Kristin J. Behfar of University of Virginia; Corinne Bendersky of University of California, Los Angeles; and Karen A. Jehn of Melbourne University.
The Academy of Management’s Annual Meeting is the premier conference for more than 10,000 students, academics, scholars, and professionals in the scholarly management and organization space. The 2014 Meeting’s theme focused on “The Power of Words,” encouraging thought leaders to consider the effect of words and interactions on individuals, teams, and organizations.
