School of Business Announces Semifinalists for 2009-2010 University of Miami Business Plan Competition

The School of Business has named 30 semifinalists in the 2009-2010 University of Miami Business Plan Competition, hosted by the School. The 30 semifinalists were among 70 entrants who submitted concept papers in the first stage of the competition last fall. Those making it to the next round include 20 undergraduate student plans and 10 graduate student plans and include students from across campus including the Schools of Business, Education, Law, Music, and Medicine along with the College of Arts and Sciences. The semifinalists must next submit full business plans, which are due March 26. The semifinal round will be held April 8, with finalist presentations and an awards ceremony held April 9. A total of $37,000 was awarded in last year’s Business Plan Competition. Established in 2003, the competition is open to all University of Miami students.
