The Executive MBA (EMBA) program at the University of Miami School of Business Administration is ranked the No. 1 Executive MBA program among those of Florida business schools in the Financial Times’ annual EMBA rankings published Oct. 27, 2008. The School’s EMBA program - offered at the School’s main campus, across Florida and abroad - is ranked No. 33 among programs in the Americas and No. 76 among EMBA programs worldwide. The School’s research ranking, which is a measure of the caliber of its faculty, is No. 31 among all programs worldwide, up from No. 47 in 2007.

“The research ranking earned by the School is particularly noteworthy,” said Barbara Kahn, dean of the University of Miami School of Business Administration. “As part of our vision to achieve global preeminence, the School has been enhancing its world-class faculty with aggressive recruitment. That shows up not only in the rankings but in the classroom, where our students benefit by learning from and collaborating with some of the best minds in their fields.”

The School’s research ranking is based on the number of faculty publications in leading academic and practitioner journals. The influential Financial Times EMBA rankings are also based on the diversity of the School’s faculty, students, and advisory boards, as well as the results of a survey of the EMBA class that graduated three years ago. That survey measures how successful and satisfied EMBA graduates have been in their careers since earning the degree.

The School of Business has offered its Executive MBA program since 1973. The program, designed for accomplished professionals with management experience, is offered in three tracks: international business, general management, and health sector management and policy. The EMBA program is delivered on the School’s main campus in Coral Gables, as well as in Orlando, Tampa and Palm Beach, Fla., and in Nassau, Bahamas. The School intends to expand its delivery locations to include Puerto Rico in 2009, pending approval by the Puerto Rico Council on Higher Education.

The next classes in the Coral Gables EMBA programs begin in January. Classes begin in Palm Beach in April. To learn more, attend an upcoming information session.
