PhD Program Admissions

Consideration for admission to the PhD program requires a completed application form, transcripts from each undergraduate and graduate (if any) institutions attended, three letters of recommendation forms, an official score report on either the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) or Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT), and for international students whose native language is not English, an official score report for the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) exam. A masters degree is not required for admission to the PhD program.
Students applying to the Economics program should take the GRE exam. Either exam (GMAT or GRE) is accepted for other disciplines. Minimum required scores are 650 on the GMAT and 1250 on the GRE. An equivalent GPA of B+ or better in undergraduate and graduate (if any) coursework is required for consideration. Strong quantitative skills, as demonstrated through GMAT/GRE scores and prior coursework, and the potential to do and publish high-quality original research are emphasized in the admissions process.

Official transcripts and diplomas (in English and Chinese) must be sent directly to your graduate program by China Academic Degrees and Graduate Education Development Center (CDGDC) http://cqv.chinadegrees.cn/
Special Note to Applicants from India:
All individual mark-sheets indicating all subjects taken and marks obtained for all years of university study. Mark sheets must be issued by the university responsible for conducting the examinations [except in the case of mark sheets from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) or Indian Institute of Management (IIM), which can be issued by the corresponding IIT or IIM].
