SEC Info
This service, provided by Fran Finnegan; Company, allows the user to search for filings in the SEC's EDGAR system by name, industry, business, SIC code, area code, topic, CIK, accession number, file number, date, ZIP code, and more.

U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission
The EDGAR filings are posted 24 to 36 hours after its arrival to the SEC. This site also contains information about the SEC, investor alerts, news digest, and more.

Wall Street Journal Annual Reports Service
The Annual Reports Service provides free access to annual reports and other information on select companies.

International
10K Wizard
Contains SEC filings of foreign companies that issue securities in the US.

Bahrain Stock Exchange
This site provides information on public companies traded on the Bahrain Stock Exchange.

Canada - SEDAR
Similar to EDGAR, SEDAR is Canada's on-line filing system for the disclosure of documents of public companies and mutual funds.

CAROL
This Web site provides users with company Annual Reports from countries worldwide.

Germany - BaFin
Written in the German language, this is the official site of the Bundesanstalt fur Finanzdienstleistungaufsicht, the German equivalent of the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Kuwait Stock Exchange
This site provides information on public companies traded on the Kuwait Stock Exchange.

States
Alabama
The Secretary of State allows online searching of its corporations, elections, home inspectors, notary public, sports agents, and UCC records. The Secretary of State Inquiry System corporations database includes non-profits, limited liability companies (LLCs), limited partnerships, and registered limited liability partnerships, as well as foreign entities that have qualified to do business in the state. Search by active or inactive entity name, keyword, or the name of agents, officers, or incorporators.

Alaska
The Division of Corporations, Business, and Professional Licensing(which is part of the Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic Development) gives online access to its searchable database of domestic and foreign corporate records, trademarks, and reserved or registered business names. Business search results include the entity's status (such as bankrupt, cancelled, merged out of existence, or voluntarily withdrawn) and information about officers. There is also a searchable database of trademark filings.

Arizona
The Corporation Commission's Corporations Division hosts the State of Arizona Public Access System (STARPAS) database of corporations, LLCs, limited partnerships, trademarks, and trade names. The Secretary of State also maintains searchable databases of UCC filings, charitable organizations, lobbyists, notaries, and registered telephone solicitors; It offers a name availability search tool that combs the corporate, LLC, limited partnership, trademark, and trade name registrations.

Arkansas
The Secretary of State maintains searchable databases of business and nonprofit corporations, as well as banks and insurance companies, home builders, trademarks, co-operatives, home inspectors, and notaries. The Secretary of State accepts online business filings (such as articles of incorporation or organization, certificates of amendment, and applications for fictitious names or certificates of authority) and UCC filings from account holders with the Information Network of Arkansas. INA subscribers may search the UCC database.

California
The Secretary of State's Business Portal offers online searchable databases of corporate, limited partnership and LLC records. The office now accepts electronic filing of Statement of Officers forms, which requires payment by credit card.

Colorado
The Secretary of State offers Web access to its business entity, trademark and trade name records. Other records available online include and UCC and EFS records. Certificates of good standing are available at no charge from the site, which accepts electronic filing of periodic reports and UCC and EFS records.

Connecticut
The Secretary of the State's Concord On-Line (also called Concord on the Net) offers access to corporate and UCC filings from 7 AM to 11 PM Eastern time.

Delaware
The Division of Corporations has a General Information Name Search tool, which supplies an entity's file number, incorporation date, registered agent name, address, phone number and residency. The Division of Corporations also accepts electronic filings of UCC-1 and -3 forms, as well as annual franchise tax reports.

Florida
To search records for corporations, LLCs, general, limited, and limited liability partnerships, trademarks, UCC filings, federal and judgment liens, and fictitious names, use the Secretary of State's Sunbiz utility, which provides digital images of the actual documents on file. In addition to retrieving information by a variety of names, this utility will search by FEIN and state document number. Sunbiz also accepts corporate, limited partnership, LLC, fictitious name registration, Uniform Business Report, judgment lien, annual reports and UCC filings online. Users who do not have a Sunbiz E-file Account may pay by check or credit card, either of which entails an additional convenience fee.

Georgia
Using the Georgia Technology Authority secure site, the Corporations Division of the Secretary of State retrieves business entity information by name, agent, or officer. The database includes trademark registrations. The site accepts online annual registrations, as well as requests for name reservations, registration renewals, status certificates, and certified copies. It permits downloading and printing out certificates of existence from the site.

Hawaii
The eGovernment Services include searching for business names and obtaining certificates of good standing.

Idaho
The Secretary of State retrieves business entity information by a variety of criteria, including the name or address of the entity or its registered agent, filing number, or date of origination. Records in the index cover corporations, unincorporated nonprofits, LLCS, LLPs, general limited partnerships, assumed names, and name reservations and registrations. The office's Commercial Division has a searchable database of UCC filings. The division now accepts electronic UCC-1 filings.

Illinois
The Secretary of State Business Services page allows online searching of corporate and LLC name availability, as well as of the corporate and LLC filing database. For those who prefer an e-mail response, the office has an online name availability inquiry form.

Indiana
The Secretary of State's Business Services Division permits searching for business entities by name, checking name availability, downloading monthly listings of new corporations, and obtaining Certificates of Existence or Authorization (which you may print straight from the site). Orders for the entire Business Entity Database are possible as well. The site has a searchable database for UCC Records and accepts online filings. Each service entails a nominal fee, which is lower for subscribers to the premium services of Access Indiana Information Network.

Iowa
The Secretary of State makes its entire filings database available online, including corporate names, officers, stock, agents, and addresses, as well as trademarks. The office also has searchable databases of notary and UCC Records. The office accepts electronic UCC filings from account holders.

Kansas
Access to corporate and UCC records is available by subscribing to the Information Network of Kansas.

Kentucky
The Secretary of State's site permits searching for business name availability; corporate status, registered agent and address, officers, and assumed names; or LLC members or managers. Searchable databases are also available of corporate officers and LLC members and managers, UCC filings and trademark registrations. The office accepts online UCC and annual report filings.

Louisiana
The Secretary of State Commercial Division Corporations Section offers a database of business and individual names, registered agents, and trademarks. The Notary Division has a searchable database of notaries.

Maine
The Secretary of State's Bureau of Corporations has a database of basic business information for business and nonprofit corporations, LLCs, limited and limited liability partnerships, and trademarks. The information includes the ID number, clerk or agent name, mailing address, status, and date of incorporation or filing. To obtain plain or certified copies of filings and certificates of good standing or existence, users must subscribe to InforME, the Information Resource of Maine.

Maryland
The Department of Assessments and Taxation provides the name, principal address, agent, and business personal property information for corporations, LLCs, limited liability partnerships, limited partnerships, limited liability limited partnerships, and trade names. This database also includes registered names. The same office has a searchable database of UCC filings. The Secretary of State maintains databases of trademarks and charitable organizations.

Massachusetts
The Secretary of the Commonwealth now offers searchable databases for finding business entity filings.The business filings database is searchable by the name of the entity or of a director or officer or by identification or filing number. The search results disclose copious information about the entity (including stock information, directors names and addresses, date of organization, and fiscal year end) and allow online ordering of nearly 40 types of certificates pertaining to a selected business. The Corporations Division also provides public information about corporations, limited partnerships, LLCs, limited liability partnerships, and business trusts, as well as tax and child support liens and Uniform Commercial Code filings.

Michigan
The Corporation Division of the Bureau of Commercial Services has an online database of corporations, limited partnership, LLC, and foreign corporation and limited partnership records. Access is also available through fee-based services such as LEXIS-NEXIS, CDB Infotek, or Information America. A simple search engine permits checking name availability for domestic and public service corporations, LLCs, limited partnerships, and professional limited liability companies.

Minnesota
The Secretary of State now provides online access to some of its records. The entity name search returns the entity name, type, status, date of filing, address, filing number, and date of expiration. It's also possible to search for data by filing number, to check name availability, and to order certified copies and certificates. Subscription access is available to the business and UCC database. A two-week trial is available.

Mississippi
The Secretary of State's Business Services Division offers a free service which provides information by business ID or name. There are tools for retrieving UCC filings and an account system for filing UCC documents online.

Missouri
The Secretary of State has a business entity database that covers some 30 types of domestic and foreign business organizations (including profit, non-profit, close, and professional corporations, limited partnerships, limited liability companies and partnerships), fictitious names, and name reservations. UCC records are searchable by debtor name or filing number.

Montana
The Secretary of State's Business Entity Search discloses basic organization and contact information from filings. It is possible to print certificates of existence or authorization, for a fee. The site promises that more extensive information from its records will be coming online, but the target date of September 2002 has not been met. The office offers public access to UCC records for a monthly fee. It is necessary to register for the service and apply for a pre-paid account.

Nebraska
The Secretary of State offers a subscription service, Nebrask@Online, for access to online databases of public filings - business entity, UCC, driver's license, sales and use tax, and vehicle title, lien and registration records. A subscription includes the right to make some filings (such as UCC) online. Subscription information packets are available on e-mail request.

Nevada
The Secretary of State Commercial Recordings Division's corporations database is searchable by name, registered agent, officer, or file number. The site accepts electronic filing of name reservations by users who have downloaded a certificate that permits secure transmitting of payment and other information.

New Hampshire
The Secretary of State's business name look-up searches the Corporation Division's database of registered business names. The division accepts online filing of annual reports. Searching the UCC database requires an account or per-search payment by credit card. UCC filing may also be made online, for a fee.

New Jersey
The Division of Revenue's Business Gateway Service has several search engines that searches business names, UCC filings, trademarks, and more.

New Mexico
To search the state's corporate records by entity or director name, use the inquiry form at the Public Regulation Commission page. The Secretary of State's site permits online viewing of images in its UCC filings database, which offers access to filings before and after the recent revision of Article 9.

New York
The Department of State's corporation and business entity database contains information about corporations, nonprofits, limited partnerships, LLCs, limited liability partnerships, and undefined entities.

North Carolina
The Secretary of State's Corporations Division covers corporations, LLCs, and limited partnerships in its searchable databases. It's possible to search for name reservations and the latest incorporations by date or county. Use the Search by Corporation Name link to check on name availability (as well as pull up business entity data). There is also a search engine for registered agents. A searchable UCC database is online, and the site accepts electronic UCC filings.

North Dakota
The Secretary of State's business records database covers corporations, LLCs, limited partnerships, limited liability partnerships, limited liability limited partnerships, partnership fictitious names, trade names, trademarks, and real estate investment trusts. It includes records that have been deactivated in the previous 12 months (as well as all active records). The Office of Administrative Licensing maintains a searchable database of licensed charitable organizations. The Central Indexing Division has a fee-based Direct Access system for its UCC, farm products, and miscellaneous filings.

Ohio
The Secretary of State's registered business database is searchable by entity name, charter or registration number, agent or contact name, prior business name, document number, or document number. It includes corporations, professional associations, churches, foreign corporations and name registrations, business and real estate trusts, fictitious and trade names, LLCs, limited liability partnerships, limited partnerships, trademarks, and name reservations.

Oklahoma
The Secretary of State's SOONER Access offers searchable databases of name availability, business, trademark, and notary registrations. It accepts electronic filing of business, trademark, and notary documents, as well as online orders for copies of documents.

Oregon
The Secretary of State Corporation Division has developed an online version of its Business Registry database. It is searchable by business name or entity number. The UCC database is searchable by an array of criteria and uses Revised Article 9 search logic; use the wild card to mimic pre-RA9 search logic.

Pennsylvania
The Corporation Bureau of the Department of State offers multiple search engines: a general name search, which uses the entity's name or number; an old (or previous) name search; an orphan name search, for nonprofits that were registered at the county level and transferred to the department; and UCC filing searches (for statements, by debtor name; for status; and for history of changes.) The Department of State also offers a searchable database of registered charitable organizations and permits online registration. Business name availability requests are accepted by e-mail through the Pennsylvania Open for Business site.

Rhode Island
The Secretary of State has a searchable database for active and inactive corporations. The search options include keywords from the purpose statement. It's possible to download annual reports filled in with information from the database. The office also posts the latest incorporation filings, by week, and offers a searchable database of notaries.

South Carolina
The Secretary of State has moved its business filings from a dial-up Direct Access system to an online database which is searchable by entity name or registered agent. The UCC database is also searchable.

South Dakota
The Secretary of State's subscription-based Dakota Fast File system allows online filing of and access to UCC, Effective Financing Statement, and Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe lien records. It's now possible to look up a business organization's ID number, type, and standing status.

Tennessee
The Secretary of State has searchable databases of business name availability; information about domestic and registered corporations, LLCs, limited partnerships, and LLPs; trademarks; and UCC filings.

Texas
The Secretary of State has set up a subscription service called SOS Direct for its database of corporate, limited partnership, LLC, LLP, unincorporated non profit association, foreign and state financial institution, assumed name, trademark and UCC filings. The online records also include filings by foreign and state financial institutions and Probate Code filings by foreign corporate fiduciaries. The system accepts electronic filing of a number of article and certificate types, as well as online orders for copies and certificates.

Utah
Run business entity, name availability, registered principal, registered notary and UCC filing searches at the Commerce Department's Division of Corporations and Commercial Code. Some information is free (name, registered agent, address, and history), while principal or notary information requires a nominal fee. Certificates of Existence are also available, for a fee. The site accepts UCC filings and annual business registration renewals online.

Vermont
From the Secretary of State's Corporations page you can search business name reservations and foreign corporation registrations; obtain the officers, registered agents, and addresses of registered corporations; determine the owner of a registered trademark or trade name; retrieve UCC filings by debtor or keyword; and search databases of notaries, election results, lobbyists, and professional licenses. It's possible to search all databases simultaneously and download the entire corporation, trade name, LLC and UCC databases.

Virginia
The Office of the Clerk of the Corporation Commission offers no-charge access to its corporate, limited partnership, LLC, UCC filings, and tax liens databases through Direct Access. An application is necessary to receive a User ID and password for the system.

Washington
The Secretary of State's Corporations Division posts searchable registration information for corporations, limited partnerships, LLCs, LLPs, and other registered entities. Online renewal and filing are now available for LLC and corporate annual reports. The Secretary of State also maintains a searchable database of registered charitable organizations and of UCC filings.

West Virginia
The Secretary of State Corporations Division's Business Organizations Information System covers active and terminated corporations, LLCs, limited partnerships, LLCs, business trusts, and other registered entities; trade names, name reservations and registrations; and some (but not all) registered trademarks. (The purpose of trademark inclusion is to prevent business entities from adopting a name that infringes on a trademark; while the Secretary of State's trademark database is not online, the office will accept online requests for searches.) The Corporations Division accepts e-mail orders for copies, good standing certificates, certificates of existence, and officer searches. The Secretary of State also offers a searchable database of professional charities and professional fundraisers.

Wisconsin
The Department of Financial Institutions' Corporate Registration Information System (CRIS) provides the status, selected information from charter documents (excluding names and addresses of officers and directors), and locator numbers of filed annual reports for domestic and foreign business and nonstock corporations, cooperative associations, limited partnerships, LLCs, LLPs, and common law trusts. Read the Name Availability Guide before using CRIS to check on proposed business names. QuickStart LLC permits online creation of a limited liability company.

Wyoming
The Secretary of State offers a searchable database of corporate, LLC, limited partnership, statutory trust, unincorporated nonprofit association, reserved name, trade name, and trademark records.
