Finance Professor Wins Best Paper Award at Australia Conference

A paper authored by Henrik Cronqvist, a professor of finance at the School, has won the Best Paper Award in the Finance Stream at the annual conference of the Accounting and Finance Association of Australia and New Zealand (AFAANZ).

The AFAANZ conference was held in Queensland, Australia July 3 – 5. Cronqvist’s paper, “Languages and Corporate Savings Behavior” was co-authored by Shimin Chen and Serene Ni of CEIBS in China, along with Frank Zhang of Murdoch University in Australia.

AFAANZ is the premier body representing the interests of accounting and finance academics and others interested in accounting and finance education and research in Australia and New Zealand. Its goals include promoting the study of accounting and finance disciplines and encouraging the study of accounting, finance and related disciplines within the general public. The Association's primary publication is the journal Accounting and Finance.

Cronqvist, who specializes in behavioral and corporate finance, joined the School in 2015 from CEIBS.
