Biography

Mehdi Shadmehr is an associate professor of economics at the University of Calgary Department of Economics. He received his PhD in economics from the University of Illinois in 2011. Shadmehr specialize in game theory, political economy, and comparative politics. Methodologically, he is particularly interested in coordination games (super modular and global games), information aggregation, information manipulation, and screening. Substantively, he is particularly interested in regime change and revolution, contentious politics and social movements, leadership, state repression and censorship, and the role of ideology.
