Brad Cohn, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, believes in paying it forward. "I had a great peer counselor during my freshman year, and her advice really made an impact on me. I still talk to her now, five years later." His peer counselor's influence inspired Brad to become a peer counselor himself. Each summer, he has worked with a group of incoming freshman, helping them decide what classes to take, answering their questions and smoothing their transition to UM. "I put a lot into being a peer counselor," says Brad, who was rewarded for his commitment by winning the distinction of Peer Counselor of the Year.  He graduated from the School of Business Administration in 2009 with a BBA in marketing and management and in continuing his UM education as a student in the MBA program. "I chose UM because of the individualized attention offered - everyone from the faculty to staff in the School of Business Administration really cares about each student."
