Biography

Petra Besenhard is currently a 4th year PhD candidate in Economics at the Miami Herbert Business School. Petra’s research focuses on applied labor economics, with an emphasis on immigration, and applications of stochastic dominance. Particularly, she is interested in immigrant skills and the relationship between skill distributions and immigrant location choices. She is also interested in what may influence immigrants’ decisions to relocate within the host country after initial arrival.
Prior to her graduate studies at the Miami Herbert Business School, she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Florida Gulf Coast University.
