Petra Besenhard

PhD Candidate, Economics


Petra Besenhard is a 5th year PhD candidate in Economics at the Miami Herbert Business School. Petra’s research focuses on applied labor economics, with an emphasis on immigration and applications of stochastic dominance. Particularly, she is interested in immigrant skills and the relationship between skill distributions and immigrant location choices. She uses several types of stochastic dominance tests to investigate how different immigrant skill distributions relate to one another. Prior to her graduate studies at the Miami Herbert Business School, she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Florida Gulf Coast University.

Petra is currently on the job market.
