Julia Hatamyar is a fourth year Ph.D. Candidate in Economics focusing on labor economics and the economics of gender.
After earning her B.A. from the Eastman School of Music at the University of Rochester, Julia worked as a concert pianist, piano instructor, collaborative classical performer, and audio engineer. She taught undergraduate music coursework at New York University and performed throughout the greater New York City area as a contracted pianist for major educational institutions. Since 2014, Julia has worked in economics and finance in both professional and academic settings. She also holds a professional certification in machine learning.
Julia's dissertation topic is "Labor Market Uncertainties: Female Workers and their Firms", and she will be on the academic job market in Spring 2021.
