Xueqing Yang

PhD Candidate, Economics


Xueqing (Ivy) Yang is currently a first-year Ph.D. in the economics department. Her interests are in Applied Microeconomics, Applied econometrics, and Industrial Organization. Her past research mainly focused on the influence of health insurance policy (Obamacare) on infants and children.

She has been the TA for Labor economics, Public economics, and Macroeconomics in her first year at Miami Herbert. Before getting back to academia, she had worked in the finance sector in China for over 4 years.

She has a mixed background in Finance and Economics. After her first year, she aims to begin research in applied microeconomics and applied econometrics topics.
