Shiyi Zhang is a second-year finance Ph.D. student at the Miami Herbert Business School. She earned an MS in information science and a BBA in finance.
Her primary research interest lies in the interests of corporate stakeholders, such as customers, suppliers, employees, governments, and communities. Shiyi is curious about how the behavior of other stakeholders, besides shareholders, will shape the economy, vice versa. It extends the boundary of the firm and helps with the policy implications on the whole society.
Outside of academia, Shiyi enjoys computer games, strategy games, reading, traveling, and cooking. She used to actively play different MMORPG games before starting the Ph.D. program.
