Minors for Non-Business Students

Non-business students in any UM school or college outside MBS may pursue a business minor. Interested students should consult with an academic advisor in the School or College of their degree/major to determine if the chosen minor is acceptable.

The following business minors are available to non-business students.

Business Law

Business Law

The Business Law minor is flexible, permitting business and non-business students alike to augment their studies with an appreciation of the role of law and ethics in global citizenship as well as in the student’s chosen corporate, creative, scientific, academic, professional, or personal endeavors.

Business Technology

Business Technology

Business students, as well as students in the other schools and colleges at the University of Miami, may pursue the minor in Business Technology by officially declaring the minor at their home school or college.

Economics

Non-business students may pursue a minor in Economics by taking 15 credit hours of Economics courses in in one of two areas:

Entrepreneurship

Entrepreneurship

The minor in Entrepreneurship is intended to acquaint business students with the essential business tools and perspective of the entrepreneur.

Finance

Finance

Business students, as well as students in the other schools and colleges at the University of Miami, may pursue a minor in Finance by officially declaring the minor at their home school or college.

Health Management and Policy

Health Management and Policy

The minor in Health Management and Policy provides student with a basic understanding of the organizational, management, economic, and financial structure, as well as the legal, ethical, and governmental policy of the health care industry.

A minor in Management for business students consists of 12 credit hours in Management courses beyond the required courses in the BBA or BSBA Business Core.

Non-Business students in any school or college may pursue a minor in Marketing in the School of Business Administration.
