BBA, BSBA and BSAF Degree

Miami Herbert Business School offers three different Business degrees: the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA), and the Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance (BSAF). 

Both the BBA and BSBA degrees combine the University of Miami general education requirements, foundational business core and one major area of specialization to earn a minimum of 120 credit hours to graduate.

The BSAF degree combines the University of Miami's general education requirements and a foundational business core. This degree requires a minimum overall cumulative GPA of 3.0 to remain in the program. Every course completed in satisfaction of the BSAF Business Core Requirements must be taken for a grade and earn a “C-“ or higher (except as noted for FIN 302 for which a grade of “B” or higher is required). Students must also maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 in Accounting courses and in Finance courses. A minimum of 125 credit hours is needed to graduate with the BSAF degree.

BBA

Students take Quantitative Applications in Business (MAS 110) or Calculus 1 (MTH 161) and two statistics courses (MAS 201 and 202). To graduate with Honors in the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), students must pursue Departmental Honors. Graduation requirements include an honors thesis and the minimum GPA of 3.9.

BSBA

Students take two levels of pure calculus (MTH 161 and 162) and two higher level statistics courses (MAS 311 and 312). An “Introduction to Programming” course and a higher-level quantitative course are also required in the BSBA Business Core. To graduate with General Business Honors, students must complete the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) with a minimum GPA of 3.75.

BSAF

The BSAF degree at Miami Herbert Business School in intended for quantitatively strong students arriving at the business school with a clear interest in careers in the financial services industry or in corporate financial management. This degree allows students to accelerate coursework in the Accounting and Finance disciplines simultaneously, as well as encourages the development of quantitative skills in data analytics. The BSAF program must be declared now. Students who start in the BSAF can always switch to one of the other degrees later.)
